Our mission is to inspire students through high-quality musical theater education in a welcoming, creative and supportive environment. To develop confidence one cast member at a time. To inspire CPACkids participants to value teamwork and to encourage them to realize their potential while creating meaningful experiences that enrich their lives both on and off the stage. To cultivate a lifelong appreciation for the performing arts.

Program Goal:

To introduce students to the fundamentals of musical theater through engaging, age-appropriate productions that emphasize learning, creativity and personal growth. Students will gain experiences that prepare them not only to become better performers, but more importantly confident learners, leaders and members of their community.

Why Musical Theater?

Musical theater uniquely offers children an understanding of themselves and the world; it allows them the ability to learn and practice multiple forms of communication all while building confidence and learning teamwork.

Musical theater is storytelling that integrates three different types of communication - acting, singing, and dancing. When a character cannot fully express themself within the story through talk, they begin to sing. When singing is not enough, they break out into dance. While some young actors are naturally drawn to the text, others may find deeper connection and comfort sharing vocal harmonies and physical movement.

As confidence grows, young actors learn more about themselves. There becomes a trust in themselves, a reassurance that they discover in their own way and at their own pace. For some this takes 1-2 shows others 3, 4 or more. The beauty of musical theater is that it offers options for how children participate in performance, meeting each one at their individual comfort level.

When a child's confidence grows that is when interests change and expand. This is where the magic of children's musical theater really happens. We start to see young actors begin to take chances, audition for larger roles, nail their solo or start to improvise and expand their character. It truly is magic on and off the stage.

Why CPACKids?

On top of all the benefits of musical theater, CPACKids actors learn and are exposed to acting, dance, vocal performance, teamwork, improvisation and collaboration. Each licensed Broadway Junior program finishes with two, 60 minute, full stage musical theater performances.
